Assigning Resources - Autotask

Assigning resources is available in Standard plan.

TopLeft can assign resources for tickets and tasks shown on boards. To show the manage resource dialog, click the ellipse menu of the appropriate ticket, then click Manage resources. From this menu you can change the Assigned resources and Secondary reasources. As in Autotask, their role is displayed beside their name if they have multiple compatible roles.

The Assigned resource field will display a list of all resources that can be assigned to this ticket, and an empty option if you want to remove the resource entirely.

When assigning resources to a task, Autotask requires the work type and department fields to be set. If a task does not have a work type or department set, the manage resources dialog will include options for setting the work type and department.

The Secondary resource field displays the same list of resources in a multi-select field. To assign secondary resources click their names in the list on the left side. Assigned resources appear on the right side. To remove resources click their name on the right side to remove them from the ticket or task. To finalize your changes click the save button.

You can also assign resources to tickets and tasks by dragging across resource swimlanes. Read more on the swimlanes page.
